After writing two children's story/recipe books and gaining a Creative Writing Diploma, I have combined my love of writing and food to bring you my two Creative Writing Workshops which are suitable for primary school children.  For both workshops, I use the Story Trifle method and they are both suitable for groups of about 30 children.

Reception - Year 2 - A brief introduction about what I do and how I got started, then explaining how important reading is and how much you can learn from books.  I discuss how the Story Trifle works and get them to draw a character from their story.  I will then read a chapter from Cherry Bakewell - Winter Fun and then I will have a short question and answer section.  At the end, the Rickster Raccoon puppet makes an appearance to look at their pictures and give them a bookmark.  Presentation will be done on Powerpoint.

Years 3-6 - A brief introduction about what I do and how I got started, then explaining how important reading is and how much you can learn from books.  I discuss how the Story Trifle works and get them to make their own Story Trifle, which is a simple description that they can use at a later date to write their story.  I explain about the use of descriptive language and how it can change a story and give an example of the same sentence written differently.  Presentation will be done on Powerpoint.

Prices are £75 per workshop + 45p per mile travel expenses

Maximum 3 workshops per day.  Schools will be invoiced after the workshops.
